Last night saw the first of our Music Mastery Evenings at the Dartmouth Yacht Club. The aim was to look at music elements such as rhythm, notation, chords, composition, pitching and technique. Rose opened the evening testing our merry bunch with some rhythm exercises and moving onto notation. Then after a quick break and some more drinks, Phil lead the second half with an overview and analysis of our Arrangements on the big screen followed by two exciting videos of some rather accomplished percussionists and steel pan musicians. Everyone embraced the relaxed yet purposeful spirit of the evening which also created an opportunity for the two groups, Trinidad and Tobago to mingle and get to know one another. Thanks to all who came along, it was fun and you were great!
